We are a student run organization founded to connect and support our community through works from the heart in the form of origami cranes and other origami art work. We endeavor to spread hope and blessing to anyone who might need the extra encouragement and well-wishes, for example, sick children in hospitals, residents of senior centers.
In the Asian culture, cranes signify longevity and good fortune.
Cranes are referred to as the “birds of happiness”.
Cranes are also symbol of hope and healing during challenging times.
It is believed that your wish will come true if you folded 1000 origami cranes.
We began by teaching how to fold cranes using both origami paper or recycled paper.
We prepared for the Brookdale trip by painting stones and folding cranes.
Our first field trip of the year, Cranes4Hope joined a group of senior members to fold cranes and create blessing stones.
